Double hard drive failures, blown out trailer hubs, crashed drone, and jumper cables…what else could go wrong?! Well, Bass Boot Camp recruit John Zeolla has had his fair share of less than ideal events transpire since kicking off his adventure.
Here in South Carolina, and throughout much of the southeast, when the bass complete the spawning ritual, the next place to target them is following blueback herring. The herring spawn comes almost immediately afterward and as the bass try to regain their strength from the struggles of reproduction they find bluebacks to be an easy target.
As bass anglers all of us have been guilty at one time or another of having a one-track mind. What I mean by this is that we are often so focused on what the bass are supposed to be doing that we overlook important events that occur throughout the food chain that supports them.
AFTCO's recruit John Zeolla's first travel vlog takes him on the "trek of all treks" as he drives across the country from Southern California to the Bassmaster Open #2 at Lake Norman, NC. Being from the West Coast, John and other anglers endure one of the biggest struggles to fish tournaments competitively on the opens circuit - THE TRAVEL!
Bass Boot Camp recruit John Zeolla took advantage of time off before the next Bassmaster Open event to get on an epic Spring bite at Santa Margarita Lake in Central California with his buddies Austin Bonjour and Patrick Touey.
