Consumers should immediately take the recalled jackets away from children and remove the drawstrings to eliminate the hazard. Consumers can either return the jacket to AFTCO for a full refund or upload a photo of the jacket without the drawstring and receive a $25 gift card to be used online at aftco.com.

Why is AFTCO recalling the Youth Solitude Jackets?
These jackets have drawstrings in the hood. The drawstrings can get caught on objects and pose a strangulation hazard.
What jackets are affected by this recall?
Only the Youth Solitude jackets in sizes XS (5-6) to L (10-12). None of our other children’s jackets are affected.
Have there been any incidents relating to these jackets?
Thankfully there have not been any reports of incidents relating to these jackets. However, safety is our top priority, and we are issuing this recall to eliminate this hazard.
Where do I register for the recall?
The recall registration form can be found on the recall page at www.aftco.com/recall.
What should I do to take part in the recall?
First, immediately stop using the jacket. We are offering two options:
1. If you would like to continue using the jacket, please remove the drawstrings before allowing your child to wear the jacket. Then upload a photo of the jacket showing that the drawstrings have been removed on the recall registration website to receive a $25 gift certificate for use on AFTCO.com.
2. If you prefer, you may return the jacket for a full refund. You can register for the return on the recall registration website. We will send you a pre-paid shipping label, and will issue the refund once we receive the jacket.
Can I continue to use the jacket with the drawstrings?
No. We urge you to take part in the recall as soon as possible.
